Oil painting completed by Pema Baldwin in Principles of Painting course at Santa Fe Prep. Assignment focused on understanding value and how to create an underpainting. Minimal color was layered as a glaze to enhance dark values. Students selected an object to paint, such as Classical sculptures, or copied master studies and paintings.
